These smaller items on the list can be done at a time that is more convenient for you, when you are not busy completing the other items on your list.
2) Learn to say no
If you have a packed day completing important tasks on your list, unfortunately helping someone complete their own tasks would be unproductive. In order to get the most out of your day you need to have to ability to say no, and help them at a time that is more convenient for you.
3) Identifying strengths and weaknesses
Take time to identify your strengths and weaknesses throughout the day. Track your daily life, and if you find out you spend too much time checking Facebook, sending messages and any other distractions, you should ensure that you limit your time spent on these things. Also discovering which time of the day you are most and least productive is a great piece on knowledge to obtain, as you can blitz through some of your more difficult tasks throughout your most effective time, and some easy tasks in your worst time.
4) Don’t be a perfectionist
Perfectionists are never productive. Perfectionists spend more time than necessary on a given task, wasting valuable time that could be spent elsewhere. In a world where time is a resource, time wasting is not worth obtaining the perfectionist result. As well as this, perfectionists miss the big picture. Do not spend your time focusing on small details of a task.
5) Keep an active mind
Keeping an active mind is crucial if you want to get the most of your day. In your off time read a book or even study a language. There are plenty of ways to keep an active mind. Make sure that you are learning something new every day. By keeping your mind active, you are ensuring that it is in the best possible shape when you are under pressure and need it to be working full pace.
6) Use your travel time
If you travel 30 minutes to and from work every day, by the end of the year you will have spent 6 and a half weeks worth of 8 hour days travelling. This time could be used to your advantage. If you are on a bus or train, you could read a book or even catch up on some work from that day. If you are in a car, you can listen to podcasts or even audio books.
Have some do-nothing time. Use this time to relax and reflect, but do not do any work. Overworking can cause stress and affect your productivity for the rest of the tasks you need to complete.
